Honor 70 Pro and 70 Pro+ unveiled with Dimensity 8000 and 9000, 54MP main cameras

Honor 70 series has been revealed - it includes three models, including the flagship of the number one series after the 30 Pro+.  The Honor 70 Pro and Pro+ are quite similar, differing mainly in the chipset options (both have MediaTek Dimensity chips), while the vanilla Honor 70 stands out as a cheaper version.

Honor 70 Pro +

Honor 70 Pro + Dimensity is powered by 9000, 4nm main chipset with Cortex-X2 CPU cores (3.05GHz), three A710s, four A510 GPUs and Mali-G710 MC10, as well as a new 6GHz sub-mode  .  The Pro+ comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The 6.78-inch OLED display on the front uses a 10-bit panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.  It can display videos using the "HDR Vivid" format, originally developed by Huawei.

All three models have the all-new Sony IMX800 sensor, 1/1.49 inch with 54 MP resolution and 1.0 µm pixels (2.0 µm with linkage).  It is used in the main camera as it is located behind the f / 1.9 aperture.

It includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera, which doubles as a macro camera (2.5cm/1 inch focus distance).  The Pro and Pro+ models have 3x optical zoom (up to 30x digital) and 8MP telephoto modules with OIS.  Finally, a 50 MP front camera with 100% field of view.

The Honor 70 series includes a Vlog mode, which uses camera-level AI and FoV to frame you and your articles.  Yes, you and your subjects can simultaneously record video using the front and rear cameras, while implementing phone image stabilization and AI beautification.

Honor has improved its charging technology and is working on the Pro 100W.  This allows the 4,500mAh battery to charge 60% in 15 minutes (more than 50% over the same period in the 60 Pro) and up to 100% in 30 minutes total.

Let's talk about pricing - the Honor 70 Pro+ with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage is pre-loaded in China today at CNY4,300 ($645/€600/$50,000).  The version with 12GB of RAM (same storage) is available at CNY 4,600 ($690 / €640/53,500).  The first units will be available on June 16th.

Honor 70 Pro

The Honor 70 Pro has the same hardware as the Pro +.  The important thing is that the screen, camera and battery are completely identical.  There are no slides and no prices.

As you may have already guessed, the Regular Pro is powered by Dimension 8000 - a mid-range 5nm chip that uses the old Cortex-A78 / A55 CPU core, but the new Mali-G610 MC6 GPU (obviously  A mid-range GPU, as opposed to the G710).

Interestingly, there is a version of this model with a storage capacity of 512 GB.  The base is 256 GB.  Anyway, here are the prices.

The 70 Pro starts at CNY 3,700 ($ 555 / € 515 / INR43,000) and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.  This is followed by the 12/256 GB version which is priced at CNY 4,000 and the above mentioned 12/512 GB model is priced at CNY 4,400.  Pre-orders in China will begin today, and the first units will arrive on June 10.

By the way, Honor held a global design competition and chose to convert the two winning designs into Honor 70 Pro / Pro + cases.
