Introducing the great new feature of Instagram

Instagram will soon issue an amber alert about missing or abducted children.

The company said the effort could be important in finding children as the visual nature of the platform allows its users to disseminate information more quickly.

The photo-sharing app says the feature will launch on Thursday and will be fully available in 25 countries in the next few weeks.  A similar platform was launched on Facebook in 2015 and is now available on Instagram.  In the future, users will be able to share alerts from one platform to another.
