The army's media wing said on Wednesday that senior Pakistani general Qamar Javed Bajwa had urged the army to maintain a high level of operational readiness amidst the emerging geostrategic environment.
According to PR Inter Services, Commander-in-Chief expressed these views during the 80th Formation Commanders Conference which was held at General Headquarters Rawalpindi in which corps commanders, chief staff officers and all formation commanders of Pakistan Army participated.
General Bajwa also expressed satisfaction over the progress made in Operation Corruption Restoration, the joint military operation of the Armed Forces to disarm and eliminate terrorists, and the achievements so far.
He stressed that the Pakistan Army, as a professional body, should discharge its responsibilities towards the security, safety and sovereignty of Pakistan as a sacred duty.
Participants were briefed on professional matters, national security challenges and response procedures.
