Private Schools Force Students to Attend On-Campus Classes During Summer Vacations

Many private educational institutions in Lahore are forcing students to attend classes on campus during the summer vacation, despite the start of the annual summer vacation.

According to the details, children need to attend on-campus classes in the sweltering heat.  On the other hand, Lahore District Education Authority (DEA) has turned a blind eye to illegal practices.

Instead of enforcing the official schedule for summer holidays, the DEA in Lahore has issued notices to private schools only, warning them to stick to the official schedule or face a fine of Rs 5,000 - 25000.

It should be noted that the government of Punjab declared summer vacation in all government and private schools and colleges of the province in the last week of May.  The summer vacation began on June 1 and ends on July 31, while the educational process will resume on August 1.

Earlier this month, it was reported that a large number of private schools across the county are offering online classes during the summer vacation, regardless of the annual summer vacation.

The parents strongly protested the practice and demanded that the county government crack down on private entities violating its summer vacation orders.
