Woman From Thar Passes CSS After Studying on YouTube

Kiran Khatri, a resident of Methi district in Tharparkar district of Sindh, recently made a breakthrough by joining the Internal Revenue Service after successfully passing the Central Senior Service (CSS) exam.

In her own words, she has the distinction of being the first woman from Thar to pass the examination and the only Hindu girl from Tharparkar.  She is the third Hindu girl from all over Sindh to achieve this milestone.

Originally, Kiran wanted to join the police, but was selected for the Inland Revenue instead.  Her training will begin in October, and she is looking forward to the important responsibilities that will come with her new role.

Kiran completed her MBBS from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro in 2020. After that, she did her homework at Civil Hospital, Hyderabad in 2021. After that, he worked as a Lecturer at Indus Medical College, Tando Muhammad Khan.

During her work at home, Kiran became acutely aware of the challenges doctors face, which inspired her to prepare for the CSS exam.  Kiran studied at home in Methi with the support of his father, who works as a deputy principal in the education department, with online lessons available on YouTube.

Kiran has used social media by curating his accounts to focus exclusively on CSS related content.  He is grateful for the support he received from his parents during his journey.

Tharparkar is the largest district in Sindh by area, with a population of 1.6 million, about half of whom are Hindu.  Within the Sindh Department of Health, Hindus account for about 30 percent of the medical staff, including a large number of female doctors.
