Infinix Note 12 VIP is a Value Champion for $300

Infinix has just launched its first 120W fast charging phone called the Note 12 VIP, but that's not all that matters here.  The phone has key features and an HD camera setup on board, all at a reasonable price.

The Chinese brand also unveiled another Note 12 device that costs less than $ 200.

Design and Display

The screen is a 6.7 inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.  It also supports 10-bit color, which is usually found only in home displays.  It covers 100% of the DCI P3 color gamut and has a touch sampling rate of 360Hz which allows less input intervals.  There is a fingerprint sensor on the side of the phone.

Internals and Storage

The main chipset here is MediaTek's 12nm Helio G96 SoC with up to 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, which is physically expandable up to 5GB, making a total of 13GB.  There is also a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

You get Android 12 with XOS 10.6 at the top of the software interface.

Cameras

The main camera setup includes a 108MP main sensor with laser autofocus and PDAF (1 / 1.67 inch, 1.92µm pixels after 9-in-1 pixel binding).  It is paired with a 13MP ultra wide camera and 2MP depth sensor.  This camera can record 2K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 60fps.

Selfie Camera is a 16MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording.

Battery and Pricing

The Note 12 VIP has a 4500mAh battery with 120W fast charging support that can charge the phone 100% in just 13 minutes.  Infinix says it has added 103 battery protection features to maintain battery life and prevent overheating.

Infinix Note 12 VIP starts at $ 300.

Infinix also launched another Note 12 series model called Note 12 G96.  Its name comes from Helio G96 chipset, like Note 12 VIP.  It also has a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, but it doesn't have a huge refresh rate or 10-bit color.  Memory options are the same with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The 108MP main camera has been downgraded to a 50MP shooter and there is no ultra-wide camera, only a 2MP depth sensor.  The battery capacity has been slightly upgraded to 5000 mAh, but the fast charging has been reduced to 33W.

The Infinix Note 12 G96 will be available at a price of $200.
