Motorola was one of the first companies to launch a foldable phone. However, the Moto Razr failed to make waves as it only offered mid-range devices at an exceptional price.
That's about to change, as the company has just announced a new foldable phone, but this time with flagship hardware. The ad comes from a poster showing a salute to a foldable phone. The teaser also confirms the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the flagship chip that Qualcomm announced recently.
The features of this upcoming foldable device are not yet known, but rumors suggest that the upcoming Moto Razor will have a larger screen inside and out. Both boards will also have a 120Hz refresh rate this time for smooth scrolling.
As far as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is concerned, this is just an overclocked version of the SD8G1 which is about 30% more efficient. This time it is based on the TSMC 4nm chip process instead of Samsung.
There is no word yet on a launch date, but the upcoming Moto Razr will compete with the more successful Galaxy Z Flip series, which always has flagship hardware. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is expected to debut in the next few months, but the next Moto Razr is likely to launch soon, most likely in June.
