WhatsApp update: WhatsApp’s Desktop beta is getting an unread chat filter

WhatsApp has started testing a filter that allows you to quickly see all your unread messages.  The unread chat filter is now available for WhatsApp desktop beta testers only.  According to a report, the new chat filter is currently available on the desktop version as well as the future WhatsApp for Android and iOS.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Desktop Beta 2.2221.0 has added an unread chats filter.  In the beta version of WhatsApp for desktop, the company released a new chat filter that allows users to filter their conversations by only showing those with new incoming messages.

The chat filter tool is already available to businesses, but WhatsApp plans to open it up to everyone.  WhatsApp now provides chat filters for desktop client beta users.  As you can see in the shared screenshot, to turn the filter off, simply press the filter button again or select Clear Filter.

It has not been confirmed whether WhatsApp plans to provide more conversation filters to everyone in the future.  In the future, WhatsApp is working on adding this capability to the WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS.  The new unread chat filter is available today, so if you need it now, use the trial version of the desktop software.

WhatsApp is working to allow users to modify their text messages in future versions, after adding a new messaging feature as a new messaging feature.  According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started testing users' ability to convert their text messages into conversations.  It will appear with the current information and copy options that appear when you long press the text message in the app.

WABetaInfo has shared some screenshots showing how the editing option works in WhatsApp.  There will almost certainly be no modification date to review previous versions of edited messages, but since this feature is still in development, their plans may change before it is launched.  Furthermore, the time frame in which users are allowed to change their messages is uncertain at this time, but once beta testing is complete, it may be made available to a wider public.
