Bette Nash becomes the oldest and longest-serving flight attendant

American Airlines flight attendant Bette Nash has been named the world's longest-serving and oldest woman.

The 86-year-old joined the profession in 1957 and has been working as an airline employee for six and a half decades.

The elderly man, originally from Virginia, began working as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines when airline tickets cost about $12, and passengers did not have to book in advance.

Speaking to an international news agency, Pete stated that his favorite part of flying over the years has been welcoming passengers as they disembark and disembark.  He even called the passengers "beautiful" and said that many things have improved over the years, but one thing that has remained the same is people.

Betty says that when she starts recognizing faces, she likes to follow that path.  He added, "I like to be on the same flight all the time because I know the passengers.

He even traveled with Jackie Kennedy, the former first lady of the United States and wife of President John F. Kennedy.

Pete says she can't even think about retiring, because she doesn't intend to leave any time soon.  "As long as I'm healthy and fit, why don't I exercise. It's still fun," a media outlet quoted him as saying.
