Nubia Unveils Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro

Nubia's Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro have been revealed, both devices featuring Qualcomm's flagship chip, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

Design and Display

The Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro have very similar dimensions.  The dimensions of the 7S L x W x D are 170.6 x 78.3 x 9.5 mm and the 7S Pro is 166.3 x 77.1 x 10 mm.  The first weighs 215 grams and the second weighs 235 grams.

Both devices have front and rear glass and aluminum frames.  Both have a built-in cooling fan so that the chipset can be run at maximum temperature.

The Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro both have 6.8-inch AMOLED panels and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.  The former has a 165Hz refresh rate and produces 700 nits of brightness while the latter has a 120Hz refresh rate and produces 600 nits of brightness.

Internals and Storage

As mentioned earlier, the Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (4nm) processor.  Both have octa-core CPUs and Adreno 730 GPUs. Both devices have UFS 3.1 storage.

It comes in the previous four configurations.  8/128 GB, 12/128 GB, 12/256 GB, 16/512.  The last three configurations come in 12/256GB, 16/512GB, and 18GB/1TB sizes.

Software and User Interface

Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro out of the box with Red Magic 5.5 and booting Android 12.

Camera

The triple camera setup stands out on the back of the Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro.  Both devices have a 64MP wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 primary sensor aperture.  The camera setup also has an 8MP wide lens with f/2 aperture and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture.

On the front, the Red Magic 7S has an 8MP lens with f/2.0 aperture.  The selfie camera is mounted on the top edge of the 7S camera.  As far as the Red Magic 7S Pro is concerned, it has an 8-megapixel wide-angle under the selfie camera for viewing.

Battery and Color

The Red Magic 7S has a 4,500mAh battery and comes with 120W fast charging.  It is available in two colors;  black and gray;  The Red Magic 7S Pro has a 5000mAh battery and comes with 135W fast charging feature.  It is available in four colours, black, grey, silver and yellow.

Pricing and Availability

The Red Magic 7S starts at $600 while the Red Magic 7S Pro starts at 775. Both devices can be pre-ordered in China and will go on sale on July 15.
