Pakistan again increases petrol, diesel prices

ISLAMABAD - The federal government raised, on Thursday, the prices of petroleum products in the country for the fourth time in a month.

According to the notification issued Thursday evening, the price of petrol has been increased by 14.85 rupees per liter and the new price has been set at 248.74 rupees per liter.

The new price of high-speed diesel has increased by 13.23 rupees per liter to 276.54 rupees.

The price of kerosene increased by 18.83 rupees per liter, bringing the price from 211.43 rupees per liter to 230.26 rupees per liter.

The price of light diesel oil has increased by Rs 18.60 per liter, bringing the price from the current Rs 207.47 to Rs 226.15 per liter.

Amidst the mounting financial crisis, the coalition government of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Pakistan Muslim League, raised the price of petrol by around Rs 100 per liter in June this year.
