Punjab to Shut Down Thousands of Schools After They Fail Quality Assurance Test

Thousands of Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) partner schools are on the verge of closing after failing their PEF quality assurance test.

According to the details, more than 2,000 PEF partner schools are at risk of deregistration because they failed to meet the criteria set by the PEF.

On the other hand, Adnan Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the PEF Partner Schools, announced a nationwide protest against the deregistration of more than 2,000 schools by the PEF.

The Chairman also claimed that the PEF had deliberately failed in more than 2,000 schools as the student success rate increased from 33% to 40%.

PEF is an independent body established under the PEF Act 1991. The Foundation is in charge of promoting education in the county on a non-commercial, not-for-profit basis.

Under the PEF-XII Act of 2004, the PEF was restructured to encourage private sector educational institutions to enhance education in the province through public-private partnerships.
