KP Announces Increase in Salaries and Pensions

Taking a remarkable step, the caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced a significant increase in salaries and pensions of active and retired government employees.

KP Caretaker Chief Minister's Advisor on Finance Hamaullah Khan disclosed the new measures during a press conference held earlier today.

According to Khan, civil servants in grades 1-16 will see a significant 35 percent increase in salary, while those in grades 17-22 will see a significant increase of 30 percent.  Pensioners are not left behind, as they will get a significant increase of 17.5% in their pension.

Additionally, the caretaker government also announced a 50 percent increase in travel allowances for all government employees, aimed at reducing the financial burden associated with official travel.

Regarding development initiatives, Khan announced an allocation of Rs.10,000.  112 billion rupees have been kept for the provincial development budget.  This funding will support the implementation of key projects and programs across the governorate.

It is worth noting that the approach of the interim government to overcome the fiscal challenges deserves attention.  Khan asserted that despite facing many hurdles, the government has made a conscious decision to refrain from borrowing to meet these challenges.
