YouTube TV is Getting a Major Upgrade

YouTube TV is Getting a Major Upgrade

YouTube TV is getting better soon.  The video-streaming giant just announced the seamless synchronization between the YouTube app on phones and TVs, which makes controlling your TV that much easier.

Previously, you could only do this by casting, which is not available to everyone, and it was a bit slow.  Not only that, but it does not automatically display any details about the video being played on the TV on your phone.

But that is about to change, because the new feature will allow you to easily connect your YouTube app to your TV on Android or iOS without any crew.  It's completely synchronized, so you'll also find the full details of the video playing on your TV on your phone app.

To use this feature, you must be signed in to YouTube TV and the YouTube app with the same account on your phone.  Launch the YouTube app on each of your devices and you will see a quick popup.  All you have to do is press Connect and both apps will be connected in full sync.

This will allow you to control YouTube TV via your phone, such as using your phone's keyboard to search for videos on TV, comment on a video you watch on TV with your phone, and much more.

It's not clear if this is a server-side update or if you'll need to update your YouTube apps, but in any case, it should be rolling out worldwide soon.
