Xiaomi's highly anticipated 12S series is finally official, including the 12S, 12S Pro and 12S Ultra. As the name suggests, these phones are minor upgrades over the previous Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro and are the first Xiaomi phones to come with the Leica branding.

Design and display
The Xiaomi 12S retains the "compact flagship" design from the Xiaomi 12 standard. The design of the new phones is the same as the non-S versions, but with the prominent Leica branding on the main camera setup.
The Xiaomi 12S has a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and supports 68 billion colors, HDR10 +, and 1100 nits.
The 12S Pro has a huge 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with QHD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate that can dial up to 1Hz to save battery. It has a maximum brightness of 1500 nits, 68 billion colors, and much more.
Internals and storage
The Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro are powered by Qualcomm's most powerful smartphone chipset, known as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Both the phones will have identical forms of memory including 8GB / 128GB, 8GB / 256GB and 12GB / 512GB.
On the software side, MIUI 13 with Android 12 OS tops both phones.
Camera
The Xiaomi 12S will have a triple camera setup that includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra wide camera, and a 5MP telecom camera. It will be able to record 8K video at 60fps as well as 4K clips with HDR10 + support like Xiaomi 12 standard.
The Xiaomi 12S Pro will also have a triple camera, but it will be triple by 50 megapixels. It will include a wide angle main shooter, ultra wide lens, and a telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
Selfie camera should be 32MP on both phones.
Battery and Price
The Xiaomi 12S has a battery capacity of 4500 mAh with 65W wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging. There is also a 5W reverse wireless charging to help charge your accessories.
The Xiaomi 12S Pro has a slightly larger 4600mAh battery with 120W ultra fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro are priced at $ 598 and $ 702, respectively, in China.
