Over 6.5 Lac Students Apply for 1 Lac Laptops Under PM Laptop Scheme

The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Program 2022-23 saw a massive response from students across Pakistan, with 652,155 students from 143 universities applying for personal laptops.

After the successful completion of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the PM Youth Laptop Scheme, in which around 1 million laptops were distributed, 100,000 laptops will be awarded to students, enabling students to excel in their academic endeavours.  Equipment will be provided to perform.

The process of selecting students for the award guarantees integrity and transparency, as it includes multiple stages of examination and evaluation.  Applications submitted by students are first reviewed and verified by the pivotal persons appointed in their respective universities/tertiary institutions.  After the initial screening, HEC generates merit lists from the online system.  The merit list will be available online.

The Prime Minister's Laptop Scheme 2022-23 aims to provide students with up-to-date technological resources, enabling them to enhance their educational experience and explore new avenues of knowledge.  By providing students with laptop computers, the program seeks to bridge the digital divide and enable young minds to actively participate in the digital age.

Selected students will receive credits based on merit, ensuring that those who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and dedication are rewarded.  These laptops will serve as valuable tools to support their educational efforts, enabling them to access a wide range of educational resources, conduct research and participate in online learning opportunities.

By distributing laptops, the government aims to empower students and provide them with the tools to succeed in the digital age.
