The Google Pixel Tablet may support stylus input

Google unveiled the Pixel tablet at I/O 2022, but it revealed only a handful of renderings and a vaguely positive explanation.  It didn't say if it would support pen input, but apparently it will - the Google Tablet has been approved by the Universal Patterns Initiative (USI).

USI lists the device as "Tangor" (a type of citrus), which is an obvious codename.  But there's nothing wrong with that, Google only has one tablet that works - the Pixel tablet.  And even if it doesn't come out soon, it's expected to happen in 2023.

As the name suggests, USI has set the standard for styles that work between brands.  Google isn't new to USI, in fact, it's been a member since 2018 and some Chromebooks already support such patterns (others use proprietary workarounds).  You can find the list on the official website.

As far as we can tell, no tablets support USI patterns.  However, the initiative revealed the Standard Edition 2.0, which includes a wireless charging system using wireless NFC charging technology (WLC 2.0), which can transmit up to 1 watt (the pen does not require much).  The new version also improves tilt detection.  However, it is not clear which version of the USI standard will be used by Google Tablet.  You will likely have to wait until next year for such details.
