IT Park near Karachi Airport to be launched this month: Minister

Karachi: Federal Minister for Technology and Communication Syed Aminul Haq said that a modern IT park is being established near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi which will boost the IT industry as well as create job opportunities.  Will

Addressing a job at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the minister said the government has acquired land from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) at a cost of Rs 31 billion and an IT park, and the foundation stone will be laid.  Month

He was also accompanied by the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Faisal Ali Sabzuri and the Pakistan National Movement Coordinator Maqbool Ahmed Siddiq.

The Federal Minister for Information Technology, called on private sector individuals to take an active role and play a vanguard role in making the IT park and other related projects “great success stories”.

The minister also said that in the next few years, IT exports will rise to 15 billion, leaving the textile industry behind.

He announced that 5G technology will be launched nationwide later this year.

Amin-ul-Haq also told KCCI that an agreement was signed between his ministry and the Sindh government to lay fiber-optic cables in remote areas of the province.

In addition, the leadership of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry briefed the ministers on the problems facing the various industrialists in the city.
