Who is the new head of HEC?

Who will be the new head of the Supreme Election Committee, little progress has been made.  Dr. Tariq Banuri's four-year term as Chairman of the Board was coming to an end on May 28.

According to sources, the search committee formed to find the new head of the Supreme Election Committee could not complete a single name.  A six-member research committee headed by Federal Minister Rana Tanveer was formed.  The committee also includes two current Vice Chancellors.

Candidates were given only four days to submit their applications.  Ten days passed and Education Ministry officials could not respond.  Dr. Tariq Banuri's four-year term as Chairman of the Board was coming to an end on May 28.
